FAITH FORMATION — Kay Skelly 399-1888
GOSPEL: Luke 13:1-9 (The parable of the fig tree)
QUESTION: In the first readings God calls Moses and promises to help him with his mission. The Psalm tells us of the goodness of God and in Corinthians, we are warned about becoming overconfident in the strength of our faith. In the gospel story, we are reminded that good trees bear good fruit but sometime they need help to flourish. Who has helped your faith to thrive and who have you helped?
Sunday classes for grades 1-6 after the 9 AM Mass.
Walk to Jerusalem: Our walk is under way. Please be sure to register your miles. Every extra action counts. Miles slips can be dropped in the collection basket or may be called or e-mailed to Theresa (887-2925or Kinekraal@aol.com) or Kay (399-1888 or skellyd@aol.com.)
"Walking was first mentioned in the Bible in Genesis 3:8 ‘then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as He was walking in the garden in the cool of the day.' It was while walking in the garden that God typically spoke to Adam and Eve. How meaningful for us to walk through our neighborhoods, parks and communities while talking to our Creator, the One who knows us best!" - Nancy Evans, RN, BA St. John Health Parish Nurse.
